Newsworthy

Founding Team | Lead, Editorial Operations, 2019–2025

Built and led Newsworthy with AB—a public interest journalism property by Newsworthy.Studio—primarily on Instagram, growing its community to 65,000 followers organically, with over 12,000 posts published on the grid over five years. Content was cross-posted to Facebook (100K+ followers) and YouTube (5K+ subscribers), bringing the platform’s total organic reach to over 1,70,000—achieved without a single rupee of ad spend.

Joined as the first hire and led the platform’s editorial, creative, and community evolution under the guidance of veteran journalist Anubha Bhonsle.

Owned and executed the full content cycle across formats on a day-to-day basis: research, writing, graphic design, video scripting, anchoring, editing, producing, and publishing. Developed the platform’s distinctive visual and editorial voice, rooted in clarity, credibility, and accessibility.

  • Led end-to-end production of daily news content—carousels, reels, photo posts, explainers—covering national and international news

  • Directed editorial storytelling with a focus on climate change, gender, rights, and public interest journalism

  • Trained, managed, and edited junior journalists while retaining full editorial accountability

  • Developed the platform’s visual identity and UX for mobile-first, accessible news

  • Repurposed content to Facebook and YouTube; the YouTube channel was recognised under the Youtube Creator Program for Journalists in 2021-22

Brought a 0 to 1 build mindset to this five-and-a-half-year project to shape one of India’s most recognisable social media-native journalism brand under a lean, mission-driven model.
